A lot of people talk to animals. Not very many listen though, that's the problem.

ABOUT LYLE

Lyle is my 8 year old Lab mix. He came home with me at 8 weeks old, and he and his vibrant personality have been at my side since. As we began his training, Lyle collected his TKN, TKI, TKA, CGC, CGCA, RN, RA, RE and CD titles within his first 3 years. On top of being a stellar competition dog, he does handy things, such as running my keys out to me, finding my cell phone, climbing a small ladder to hand me lights while I’m in a tree, and running to get the grocery receipt down the road when it blows away in the wind. Oh, and he can show me where he went to the bathroom, too.

During training sessions, we might use Lyle, or he might just be along for the ride. He doesn’t mind showing an audience what he can do, so if you would like to see him perform, go ahead and ask him.

ABOUT JESS

My name is Jessica Nelson, but you can call me Jess. I see sincere value in training a dog to have manners and obedience, and I believe a trained dog is a happy and safe dog (and owner). To see why I believe everyone should be training their furry friends, click Why We Train. My training methods are simple, and I very well know you can have a wonderfully well-trained dog without causing them physical harm. Lyle and I like to keep things positive around here. We believe training should typically be structured play (sprinkled with turkey sausage). To learn more about how we train, click How We Train

I began learning how to train dogs 8 years ago, and went on to study training, conditioning, psychology and canine biopsychology at three Wisconsin Universities. When I’m not training with a dog, I dedicate my time to researching canine behavior and training to ensure we are teaching you and your dog with the most updated and reliable information. To pick out your training package, click Start Training. Lyle and I look forward to helping you and your dog learn how to communicate and work together.

But wait…Then who’s dave?

Dave the Doberman is our newest addition to the JN Dog Training team. Since 8 weeks old, he’s been with us growing into a responsible citizen. Don’t let that sharp posture fool you, he may look as feisty as ever because of his breed, but he is one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. He adores all humans and can’t wait to lean right into your leg and into your heart. Dave is following in Lyle’s footsteps, and oh boy, is he a hoot and a half. He might be along with us, and if he is, make sure you say hi.
